Ann-Marie is certified and level 3 trained in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS),  a model of therapy that is highly effective in working with trauma as well as in resolving struggles with uncomfortable emotions and unwanted behaviors. She uses IFS as her primarily modality of counseling, but is trained in multiple modalities of therapy and and works with her clients as individuals in the ways that are most effective for them.   She has trained with the Gottman Institute and the American Association of Christian Counselors. In addition, she maintains high standards in remaining educated on current treatment strategies and is committed to continued growth both professionally and personally.  

She is highly committed to her own healing, growth, and development and does not ask her clients to journey where she has not journeyed  herself. 


Ann-Marie lives in Plano, Texas with her husband of twenty-four years and their three teenage children, including one internationally adopted child.  She is actively involved in her church and volunteers in her community.  In her free time, she enjoys distance running, travel,  reading, and spending time with her family and friends. 


About Ann-Marie Bowen, LPC

​​​Ann-Marie Bowen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baylor University. She majored in Psychology and minored in Religion and graduated Summa Cum Laude. In addition, she holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX#17524), and has been counseling since 2000.  She is a certified Internal Family Systems Therapist.


Ann-Marie Bowen has extensive experience working with numerous issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, adjustment issues, parenting issues, grief, and relational counseling.  Special areas of interest include trauma recovery, family of origin issues,  boundaries and codependency, and infertility. Ann-Marie works with adults and does individual and couples therapy.


Prior to going into private practice, Ann-Marie worked at Meier Clinics in Richardson, Texas.  She worked in the Day Program and Outpatient Clinic.  Ann-Marie led workshops for the community on depression, anxiety, and anger management.  She has been a guest speaker on KWRD's Consumer Magazine radio show with Dr. Paul Meier.
